About CFE Foundation

About Compassion for Elders Foundation

Our Origin Story

Compassion for Elders Foundation (CFEF) was founded by Chief (Princess) Tinuke Aigbokhan Nee Famuyiwa following a profound personal realization. After witnessing the heartbreaking plight of abandonment, zero-infrastructure and vulnerable elders in our local communities, she was moved to action. She recognized that the people who spent their lives building our society were often left without basic care, dignity, or a support system in their twilight years.

From Humble Beginnings to Widespread Impact

What started as a modest personal initiative—feeding just ten elders on a monthly basis—has blossomed into a full-scale humanitarian foundation. Driven by deep compassion, dedicated volunteers, and community support for CFEF has rapidly expanded its reach. Today, we proudly impact over 500 beneficiaries annually across multiple states, ensuring that our elders are not only fed but truly cared for.

A Holistic Approach to Community Welfare

While our roots are deeply planted in elders wellbeing, our mission has evolved to address the interconnected needs of vulnerable communities. We understand that restoring dignity to elders also means supporting the environment they live in and the generations that will come after them. Our comprehensive interventions now span across:

  • Healthcare & Wellness: Routine medical outreaches, hypertension and diabetes screenings, and the provision of free medications to indigent elders.
  • Educational Support: The "CFEF Bright Future" scholarship, specifically designed for orphans and children from low-income families.
  • Infrastructure Development: Renovating dilapidated public primary schools, upgrading Primary Health Care (PHC) centers, and drilling boreholes for clean water.
  • Empowerment & Advocacy: Skills acquisition programs for widows, seasonal food banks during festive periods, and active advocacy on elders rights.
"A society is truly measured by how it treats its most vulnerable members. At Compassion for Elders Foundation, we are committed to ensuring no elder is forgotten, neglected, or left behind."
